Today era, India becoming most Relevant country in South Asia Pacific. Most powerful countries like United States, looking India as alternative of China.
“India is growing very fast in the field of technology. Some of the IT hubs of India are shown in the upper picture. Along with these, there are many other hubs in India which are taking India ahead in the world of technology.”
In today’s time, India has become very important from the point of view of geopolitics. India’s economy is growing very fast and in terms of population also India has become the largest country in the world. Therefore, it has become compelled for the world to look towards India. Revolutionary initiatives like “Atmanirbhar Bharat” are playing an important role in the country’s economy. Along with this, India’s contribution in the space field is not hidden from the world. ISRO’s achievements tell the world why India is Vishwaguru and why India is so important for the world.
Some key Points how India Arise Globally;
If we talk about South Asian Countries, we can include India, Iran, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bhutan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh etc. and in all these countries if anyone is doing development at this time, it is India. As we all know Sri Lanka is bankrupt, Pakistan’s economy is on the verge of collapse, if we talk about Bangladesh, its economic condition is very bad due to internal instability.
While the US was engaged in Afghanistan, Pakistan Provided access to landlock Afghanistan, in the greed of some dollars. With the US withdrawal, Pakistan role in serving as a conduit for the US in Afghanistan has ended. Afghanistan is now Primarily Pakistan Problem.
Likewise Iran despite its regional influence, remains isolated and under sanctions.
Looking at all these situations, we can say that some “Tug of war game” is going on in the South Asian Countries and India is taking full advantage of it through its diplomatic policy, which makes India very important in geopolitics.
COVID 19: On one hand, while this global pandemic had brought the economy of even the United States and Russia to its knees, India was engaged in economic development during that time. The whole world was amazed at how India was providing vaccines to poor countries. This was the time when India improved its diplomatic relations with many countries. Now India did not want to remain dependent only on Russia. On the one hand, while India was improving its diplomatic relations with other countries. China imposed lockdown in the country several times due to which the United States and Russia could not trade with China and they suffered a lot of losses. Now the West had understood that now they will have to find an alternative to China, and who could be a better alternative than India. India also took advantage of this opportunity and many Tech. Companies left China and came to India, which benefited the Indian economy a lot.
3. Zero Tolerance Policy against Pakistan
If today India is so politically strong in the entire world, then the reason for this also includes the zero tolerance policy against Pakistan. Pakistan is a country which had made India’s economy unstable by doing terrorism in it. India did not have any strong policy at that time because India’s mindset was quite defensive against both “Pakistan and China”. The whole world knows that Pakistan is a hub of terrorism. For example, 9/11 attack mastermind Osama bin Laden was Pakistani. 26/11 in Mumbai Ajmal Kasab and his party were also Pakistani. 1993 bomb blast mastermind Hafeez Saeed was a Pakistani citizen. Pakistan always wanted to make India unstable, that is why it used to carry out terrorist incidents in India. At the same time, by raising the Kashmir issue, Pakistan has been repeatedly trying to defame India on big platforms like the UN and it still does so, but the real thing is that the Kashmir issue itself has made Pakistan poor.
But India, on the basis of its smart and strong diplomacy policy against Pakistan, first broke all relations and then isolated Pakistan from the whole world.
4. India v/s West (Strong Diplomatic Policies)
There was a time when India always remained on the backfoot regarding its foreign policies. We can include many examples in this, like India never developed the North East because India felt that if we develop the North East then China can easily attack India and separate the North East from India. This is a good example of defensive mindset. In the last 70 years, the North East was not given any attention. We should thank the people of the North East for this, despite this they remained with India. And if we look today, the North East is being developed and China is being given a befitting reply. Today India is not playing on the backfoot but on the frontfoot, because of its attacking diplomacy. There was a time when Pakistan looked like a threat to India. World’s knows how many attacks were carried out by Pakistan in India, 1993 bomb blast, 26/11 terrorist attack, 1999 Kargil war and the last 3 wars. But still India was doing trade with Pakistan. Even today it is the same India, but due to its strong diplomacy, Pakistan has been brought to its knees. Today Pakistan has been forced to beg. This is the modern India which maintains good relations with both the United States and Russia. Today, no big summit is complete without India’s presence. India has created a distinct identity in geopolitics on the basis of its diplomacy. You will remember that during the “Russia-Ukraine” war, America imposed many sanctions on Russia. Despite this, India bought oil and many weapons from Russia.
India has never taken such big decisions in history. On the one hand, India is trading with Russia and on the other hand, it is also providing aid to Ukraine. India is friends with Russia and also has good relations with America. India’s foreign policy has changed a lot in the last 10 years. Now India makes policies keeping in mind the interests of its own citizens and not the interests of other countries, whether America imposes sanctions or something else. Today it does not make any difference to India because India also has its own status in geopolitics. If today Indian citizens get trapped in any war or any country, the Indian government can get them out of there on the strength of its diplomacy as we saw in the Russia-Ukraine war. India carried out big campaigns like Operation Ganga, Kaveri in foreign countries just to get its citizens out safely and there is no doubt that India was successful in this.
5. Political Stability in India
The most important thing for the strength of any country is what kind of internal stability that country has. For example, let us take Pakistan, where the government never completes its time period. Sometimes the army takes over the power of the country, and sometimes the opposition party overthrows the ruling party. Then in Pakistan, religious fanaticism remains at its peak, and minorities are oppressed. Forced religious conversion, killing of Hindus, forcibly abducting their daughters and marrying them, on top of that IMF loan, which doubles down on the people there. The reason why Pakistan is sometimes considered a more unstable country is the same that goes for Bangladesh. But in India we get to see the exact opposite of it. There is no doubt that India is the biggest democracy in the world. In India, the army has its own separate side where it maintains a complete distance from politics. The government also completes its work here unless there is an emergency problem like it happened in 1975. Apart from this, the government in India is much more stable, where the government can fulfill it’s promises. There are 85 percent Hindus in India, and yet India is a secular country; no forceful conversation is held in the country; these small minorities live here peacefully and without any fear, which is a very big key point for India’s stability. If a country remains stable, only then can that country develop globally, because domestic unrest and instability can harm the economic and political needs of the country, which India would never want.
This is the reason how India has become so strong on the world stage. India has always been promoting secularism in front of the world and it also shows this to the world. Now when there is internal stability in India and there is no conflict, then the Government can implement its programs well and correctly. India seems much more tolerant as compared to other countries, you must have recently seen the incident in Bangladesh where how the Government and the Islamic fundamentalists oppressed the minority Hindus in the name of Islam. Many Hindus fled and came to India, some were killed and some were forcefully converted. All these things increase instability in the country but we do not get to see all this in India. This is why today India is creating its own distinct identity on the world stage.
